Open VIN Lookup to decode a vehicle.
Decode a vehicle
Section titled “Decode a vehicle”Use the full 17-character VIN when available. The form accepts 1–17 characters and uppercases letters.
- Enter VIN and the four-digit model Year, then Decode.
Check a partial decode
Section titled “Check a partial decode”Read Error Text under Error Codes even when vehicle details appear. Compare the entered Year with the returned Model Year in General Information; blanks do not confirm missing equipment.
Resolve a mismatch
Section titled “Resolve a mismatch”Compare VIN, make, model, and year with the registration, title, manufacturer label, or carrier source before entering the vehicle. Decoding does not confirm ownership, condition, or coverage.
Lookup rejected?
Section titled “Lookup rejected?”Correct VIN and Year, then retry Decode. For a persistent error, provide support the error and search context without unrelated customer information.
